DATE: Victorian, c.1870

A stunning antique Scottish bangle set with cut agate and malachite panels; orange, green and black in colour. The piece is double hinged with a clasp at the back of the band, to fit a 6.5 inch wrist. The gold is finely hand-chased throughout, with intricate Celtic knot and floral/foliate motifs. An exceptionally high quality piece, unusual to see in 15k gold - Scottish jewellery of this era is normally modelled in silver.
